On Monday, March 18th, 2008, Microsoft released Service Pack 1 for their Windows Vista operating systems. It includes literally dozens of enhancements and improvements and I would recommend you download and install it if you are using the Vista operating system. On or about April 15th, 2008, Microsoft will make the SP1 update available automatically to those users who enable automatic updates. Prior to that date you can download and install the update manually by clicking here. Please Note: the file is almost 450 mb, so be sure you have a fast internet connection before you attempt this download! If you have a slower internet connection, you might want to wait until mid-April when Microsoft will make the download available through their automatic updates process where the total file size will be about 70 mb. In either case, be prepared to allow over an hour for the update to install after it is downloaded. I would recommend you plug in your laptop charger and do not try to install this update during a thunderstorm!
