Do you need a high speed internet connection but cannot get DSL or cable internet?
You could consider satellite, but as of May, 2013, the startup costs are still well over $400. ISDN uses a digital signal to send and receive data at speeds that rival DSL! For much less than the cost of a satellite connection, you should consider ISDN. While the connection is not a true "always on" connection, the actual time it takes the modem to connect is usually less than 2 seconds and you hear no noise.
If you decide to research this option, be aware that there are many different types of ISDN service. Be sure you check all the terms to be sure you don't enroll in a program where you have limits on your connection time or have to make a long distance call to connect!
You might also consider wireless internet service (using line of site antennae). Although the service area is sometimes limited, the connection speeds are similar to DSL.
I work almost exclusively with a provider in Ellis county (south of Dallas) which has proven to be the most reliable service of all I have used in the past; Ellis County Texas Internet Service Provider. In addition, you will find their prices to be very competitive. The link below will take you directly to their ISDN web page where the technical aspects of the service are explained in detail. You can follow the link at the bottom of the page for pricing packages. Keep in mind, you will also be required to order the ISDN line from your local telephone service provider. If you prefer, you can send me an email and I will contact you to determine your needs and gather all the necessary information for you, including information from your local telephone service provider. Please be sure to include your telephone number in the email.
